Supply Chain Management Assessment Test
Every job requires a specific set of knowledge and skills. And this varies depending on the type and complexity of the job. More than just knowing whether street smarts or book smarts is better, competency assessment is all about providing a way of building the skills and knowledge people need to perform their current job. Competency Assessment is the key element of the succession planning process because it provides a way of developing people for their future roles.
Benefits of Assessment
Your organisation will benefit from increased productivity and profitability by ensuring employees has the capability to meet their objectives. More objective with assessment being carried out on the job. Training is only provided for areas identified as needing development. Reduced training costs because learning and development can occur on the job. You can create project teams of people with complementary skills. Competency data is the basis for dynamic succession planning.
Self driven process – learning occurs at the person’s own pace and on the job.
Existing knowledge and prior learning are recognized.
Competence is shown by being able to demonstrate skills.
Fairer and more objective assessment.
Builds knowledge and skills which are directly useful to the person in their job and for future roles.
Competency Assessment (Pre-Training Analysis):
To make the training program efficient and effective ISCM recommends gap analysis test or GAT. This helps the trainer in designing and delivering the training in view of the gaps discovered. The training content will be designed in coordination with the client.
The report of the competency test will be shared with client also.
Competency Assessment (Post-Training Analysis):
The training session is over and trainees have returned to their jobs to begin applying what they’ve learned, so the trainer’s job is done, right? Wrong.
A successful training program is always a work in progress, and the training cycle isn’t complete without an evaluation of training’s effectiveness, which leads to decision-making and planning for future training. Therefore, a useful and informative evaluation program needs to be a part of overall training operation.
